O tempora O mores
Catching the 0904 train from Borivali to get to office is where half of my energy goes, now-a-days. The whole procedure requires careful planning, and execution. I'm picking, and fast. :)
Proof is, the first 2 days I stood near the doorway partitions (with experience, I knew this location is better than being in the middle). People seem to have more energy and endurance at the start of the week. A 2D version of me got down at Santacruz. Bad idea, I thought.
The next day, when the train was to arrive, I positioned myself better, just behind the (first) row of the "pioneers" of the ordeal. I didn't have much to do, just be careful enough not to bump into the grab pole to avoid being sliced. It's also necessary to take a F1 turn on either side quickly; otherwise I would be pushed off the opposite door. I ended up between 2 rows of seats. Missed a seat by 1. Still a considerably good location, as I could block the fan's gusts. Suffer you pioneers, although you got the seat, I shall have the air!
By the end of the first week, I was trained enough to get a seat. :)
It's necessary that one must forget all the moral science lectures in such situations. I see the young ones grab the seat, while the elderly cling on to the little of the hand-holders that they get (like spider-man sans his powers). Whenever conscience pricks me, I crush it by thinking, they-would-have-done-it-when-they-were-young.
But I really dislike people blocking the fan..tch!
